Q: What is your favorite place to travel to?
My favorite trip in recent memory was to Malta with my sister. The landscapes are beautiful, the people are incredibly hospitable, and the weather is sublime. However, I’ve always loved visiting Taiwan the most, as most of my extended family lives there, and they have the best food in the world!
Q: What is your favorite food?
Dessert. And bacon. And steak.
Q: Do you have any special talents? If so, what?
I used to be quite good at the violin – I even performed at Carnegie Hall once!
Q: Do you have a favorite neighborhood in NYC? If so, which one and why?
Soho! Well, West Soho to be exact. I love that it’s tucked away from all of the tourists, yet close to all of the shopping. And there are amazing restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bakeries all over!
Q: Tell us about the first yoga class.
My first yoga class was quite the humbling experience! I remember being a bit lost trying to learn all of the names of the poses, and feeling very inflexible. However, with each class, these feelings quickly turn into the desire to learn more and challenge yourself.
Q: What are your favorite classes to take at Sacred Sounds Yoga and why? Favorite teachers or styles, if any?
I really enjoy Candlelit Flow with Ikaika, Gretchen, Amanda and Karin because it’s a good way to decompress following a stressful work day. Not only does it help shake the tension built from sitting at a desk all day, but it also helps calm the mind. Their hands-on adjustments are super helpful! Aerial classes are also wonderful because they help you get deeper into each stretch.
Q: What do you love about yoga?
I love that no matter what else is going on in the crazy world outside, yoga always helps me find a bit of peace within. Sacred Sounds provides such a great, nurturing, and open environment in which to practice!
