On the very last day of 2017, we invite ourselves to draw awareness inwards, become more introspective and prepare body, mind and soul to pay gratitude to this year, and welcome the New Year. We will spend 2 hours grounding, calming and quieting to bring ourselves to be fully present, using yin yoga poses to prepare for the deeper relaxation. We will conclude the practice with Samatha Meditation, a mindful meditation technique you can practice virtually anywhere for years to come.
Yin Yoga is the moon side of Hatha Yoga practice where you hold the pose for several minutes at a time to allow the tension in the muscles to dissolve, and to help lengthen and open the tighter, contracting connective tissues of the joints.
Restorative Yoga is the even mellower sister of Yin Yoga where your body is fully supported by the props, allowing your parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system to become dominant, creating ease and help restore the body & mind’s natural ability to feel whole.
