Lauren has been teaching yoga for 5 years, practicing over 15, starting when she stumbled into a yoga class as a college freshman, and immediately fell in love with the savasana. As she went on to deal with a chronic illness involving pain and fatigue throughout her 20s, the study of yogic philosophy and a modified physical practice whenever possible remained a constant inspiration for her to keep moving forward.
Thanks to perseverance bolstered by yoga, Lauren was able to find effective treatment for her illness and began to focus more on the physical aspects of yoga. She traveled to Bali in 2011 for a 200 Hour Teacher Training through Yandara Yoga. Back home in New York, she completed the YogaWorks 300 Hour Professional Program in 2013. In 2016, Lauren began practicing ashtanga yoga at Pure Yoga, where she quickly acquired a 100 hour ashtanga training certification in 2017 and started assisting her mentor, Scott Harig, for another 200+ hours.
Lauren’s style of teaching is an ashtanga-informed blend of traditional and creative vinyasa, with a focus on strength-building cues. Lauren encourages laughter while seeking to bring practical spirituality to her classes. She is known for spot-on playlists and flows that stay moving with plenty of options to match intention and much-needed reminders for breath.
Lauren describes her classes as: cohesive, moving, strength-building and light-hearted.
Lauren’s music: modern, electronic, dance remixes, orchestral pop covers, the occasional Beyoncé or Drake track.
