Samantha Debicki received her B.A. in English from Columbia University, and earned her 200-hour yoga teaching certification from Yoga Effects in December 2007, under the guidance of Liz Mandarano and Jill Camera. Sam’s experience as a yoga practitioner with spinal fusion has motivated her to expand her understanding of the spine and how to address back conditions and asymmetries in the context of a yoga practice. She participated in the Yoga Union 300-hour teacher training program, which included a yoga for backcare and scoliosis module.
Sam’s teaching and personal practice are anchored in her passion for using conscious breath and thoughtful movement to practice getting out of one’s own way. Her classes blend dynamic, intelligent, and creative sequencing with clear alignment instruction and the flexibility to accommodate individual variations. She teaches in private and corporate settings and is proud to be a staff teacher for the Sacred Sounds Yoga Teacher Training program. She also works as an event, communications, and development consultant for multiple nonprofit organizations.
Samantha describes her classes as: invigorating, intelligent, creative and empowering.
Samantha’s music: ambient, downtempo, pop/rock, folk, jazz.
