Join Sho Higuchi in his signature restorative yoga and yoga nidra series to balance the 7 major chakras. The chakras are the psychic wheels of energy, the focal points of prana, the vital life force that flows through our mind body system. By balancing the major chakras, we not only regain health and balance in our physical, mental, and emotional bodies, but we are able to find harmony and balance throughout our entire lives. In this special series, we will use the chakras and Yoga Nidra meditation to help spark joy and happiness to create direction and a sense of purpose in our lives. In each workshop, we will move through a unique blend of gentle asana, restorative yoga, pranayama/breath work, and yoga nidra meditation all while embarking through Sho’s magical stories and visuals. By diving into each individual chakra, we will reflect upon one of the “Pillars of Joy” as taught by many cultures and leaders throughout the world. Take each workshop separately or join in on all 7 for the complete experience!
In this final installment of the Chakra Balancing & Yoga Nidra for Joy and Happiness series, we will be closing by reviewing and rebalancing the 6 chakras to awaken our 7th, Sahasrara. When all 6 of our major chakras are in balance and harmonized, our seventh blossoms open. Grounding, stability and the pillar of gratitude of our first; freedom, serenity, and the pillar of forgiveness of our second; strength, courage, and the pillar of acceptance of our third; love, understanding, and the pillar of compassion of our fourth; purity, self expression, and the pillar of humility of our fifth; and mental clarity and the pillar of perspective of our sixth come together to create divine knowledge and wisdom of our crown chakra. When crown chakra is in harmony we are able to live our lives with peace and contentment. We learn our true nature and our purpose in life and can align our actions to this purpose. In this special installment, we will explore how these 6 chakras and 6 pillars weave together to form the 7th chakra of true joy and happiness.
Yoga Nidra, often called the art of conscious relaxation, is a healing practice which has been used to reduce anxiety, depression, pain, insomnia, and a number of other modern disease states. It is a unique meditation done on the back that helps to quiet the overactive mind and unwind the nervous system. Together with some gentle movement and breathing, we will work to remove the deep rooted tensions and stresses stored in the physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
