Join Sho Higuchi in his signature restorative yoga and yoga nidra series to balance the 7 major chakras. The chakras are the psychic wheels of energy, the focal points of prana, the vital life force that flows through our mind body system. By balancing the major chakras, we not only regain health and balance in our physical, mental, and emotional bodies, but we are able to find harmony and balance throughout our entire lives. In this special series, we will use the chakras and Yoga Nidra meditation to help spark joy and happiness to create direction and a sense of purpose in our lives. In each workshop, we will move through a unique blend of gentle asana, restorative yoga, pranayama/breath work, and yoga nidra meditation all while embarking through Sho’s magical stories and visuals. By diving into each individual chakra, we will reflect upon one of the “Pillars of Joy” as taught by many cultures and leaders throughout the world. Take each workshop separately or join in on all 7 for the complete experience!

We might have all heard, said, or thought something like this at least once in our lives. These types of thoughts affirm the idea that forgiveness is something we graciously do for someone else. That forgiveness is a gift that must be earned or deserved. However, when we hold onto resentment, it doesn’t actually affect the other person. Resentment only affects the person who is holding on. When we choose to forgive someone, we are making the conscious decision to free ourselves. Release ourselves from the binds of resentment.
This workshop is designed to help us to release and let go of all the things that no longer serve us and cultivate forgiveness through the balancing of Svadhistana Chakra, our second major energy center in the body. Svadhistana rules and governs the water element. Water element is often used as a symbolism for purification and rebirth. We’ll dive into the metaphorical oceans of our deep inner self to explore what it is that causes us to latch onto that anger and resentment inside of us. Studies have shown that these feelings of resentment cause a great deal of stress on our minds and nervous systems leading to increased anxiety and depression, a weakened immune system, and lowered energy state. By harnessing the power of forgiveness and balancing Svadhistana chakra, we will work to regain our natural state of peace, freedom, and joy.
Yoga Nidra, often called the art of conscious relaxation, is a healing practice which has been used to reduce anxiety, depression, pain, insomnia, and a number of other modern disease states. It is a unique meditation done on the back that helps to quiet the overactive mind and unwind the nervous system. Together with some gentle movement and breathing, we will work to remove the deep rooted tensions and stresses stored in the physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
