Sho Higuchi’s signature Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra workshops are back, and, this time, we are starting off with a very special installment incorporating pranayama techniques for healing.
We take an average of 21,000 breaths every single day of our lives. Oftentimes we don’t even think about it until we lose the freedom in our breathing (such as when we are congested). The breath is the backdrop of our life and is a powerful tool that, when utilized properly, can promote a state of deep healing and optimum health.
Join Sho in this special workshop where we will explore some of the ancient yogic healing techniques to restore our mind-body health to its optimum state. Our breath not only brings in oxygen, but it also brings prana, the all pervading life force energy that sustains all life form. By bringing awareness to our breath and this prana flow, we are able to tap into our body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Reclaim your inner strength and confidence by balancing the Manipura Chakra, our third major energy center in the body. Manipura chakra is our fire center and governs our strength, courage, passions, and determination. When Manipura is under active, it can be difficult for us to get going or have the drive to move forward in life. We may feel lethargic or feel lost without a purpose. Manipura is the fire that lights the way in our path. If over active however, we may become easily agitated or anxious and feel it is difficult to relax and unwind, or even fall asleep at night. When Manipura is balanced, we have just the right amount of fire to fuel our passions into a healthy lifestyle. It is the solar energy within us that allows our best qualities–and the other chakras–to shine brightly. A harmonious Manipura chakra provides us with the energy and determination to take action, effectively face our challenges and obstacles, and achieve our goals.
Learn how we can use the yogi’s ancient techniques to alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress; sleep better at night; improve digestion, and relieve digestive distress; boost and restore the immune system, lymphatic system, and circulatory system; alleviate pelvic floor issues; improve memory, focus and concentration; and of course, breathe more freely and easefully! We will even explore some of the ancient yogi’s secret anti-aging techniques!
Class will begin with simple breath awareness and breathing techniques to relax and soothe the mind and nervous system (these techniques can be done anywhere, anytime you need). We will then prepare the physical body through gentle, mindful stretching, explore the ancient breath and pranayama techniques, and end with a healing prana shakti yoga nidra meditation designed to fuel our cells with the necessary prana to restore, rebuild and rejuvenate.
